Compact living: Troels
The residents at CPH Village get their own, compact home and access to a plethora of shared spaces. We have set out to explore how the villagers shape their space according to their needs.
Troels left his old life with a girlfriend, a comfy apartment and full-time job to take a new direction in life. He started working as a woodworking apprentice and moved in to CPH Village.
From Fyn, Denmark, Troels is a 30 year old furniture apprentice. He is vegan (most of the time), plays the guitar, cycles, takes photos, does yoga and is passionate about making quality furniture.
He holds a Bachelor in Informatics and Communication and worked with digitizing films at DR before embarking on the furniture career. Naturally, he build all the furniture in his apartment himself.
Just like Marie Kondo
“I really like to keep it minimal. I want to be thoughtful about my consumption because it gives me less to worry about.”
This attitude stimulates him to keep only what makes him happy.
Everything serves a double purpose at his place, and he is more than happy to showcase his container-living hacks that make the most out of a small space.
“I would like to build my own compact house, maybe on wheels or a container like this. I would love to grow my own vegetables and explore a new way of living.”
His dream is to one day start his own furniture company, and his current home serves as a playground for clever solutions.
