Our master plan

We are on a mission to transform how cities work for and with people by creating costworthy co-living villages.

We believe in creating communities that are open, inclusive and inspired to take action.

Our first villages are being build in Copenhagen, and we are developing projects on several sites in the capital. Our first village on Refshaleøen was ready in the summer of 2018, and we are expecting new villages to be built during 2019.

The case of Copenhagen

Like many other cities, Copenhagen is struggling to develop affordable housing. Currently, close to 10.000 students are unable to find even a basic place to live in the capital. The municipality aspires to provide permanent housing solutions for most of these students, but the process is expected to take many years.

While we wait for the permanent solutions to arrive, we can build centrally located, affordable and sustainable homes for the students in underdeveloped areas of the city. In Copenhagen, very large and centrally located areas of land - typically abandoned industrial areas - are planned to lay idle and undeveloped for the next 10-20 years. If utilised by our housing concept, these areas have a capacity to support 20.000 homes.

With new, flexible zoning laws and 21st century mobile housing technology, we aim are tapping into the vast potential and are already solving the problem by building our first villages.

When, in the future, the areas used for temporary student housing needs to be used for other activities, the mobile villages can be transported to the new frontiers of the city or to other cities and countries where they may continue to serve young urbanists with affordable and sustainable housing.
